Here are some pro tips for prioritizing student attendance:
1. Build a steady routine.
2. Break mornings into easy steps.
3. Set small goals, and connect attendance to your goals.
4. Make school feel more connected.
5. Identify what makes attendance hard, and reach out for help early.

Mr. David Alonzo, Law Teacher, and Miss Leandra Gandara, Agriculture Teacher, are huge assets to our team. Their expertise, dedication, and passion make a lasting impact on our students every day.

Cadet Gores distinguished herself by leading the cadet color guard. She ensured the team was prepared and ready to execute several color guard events throughout the City of Pearsall. Furthermore, she had demonstrated great motivation and initiative in her corps management duties, taking the initiative to “find work.” Cadet Gores’ professionalism and work ethic have earned her “Cadet of the Month” for October.

Our PE coaches promote fitness, teamwork, and lifelong health. They design engaging lessons that help students improve strength, coordination, and confidence while learning the value of sportsmanship and fair play. PHS is incredibly thankful for our band directors!
From L To R
Vanessa Montelongo, Jordanne Hechler, Armando Perez, and Ezek Zamorano
Our band directors are responsible for teaching and guiding student musicians in marching band, concert band, jazz band, and other ensembles. They help students learn proper technique, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills. Band directors spend countless hours planning rehearsals, choosing music, organizing performances, and preparing students for competitions, concerts, and pep rallies.
They work closely with students, encouraging teamwork, leadership, and responsibility. Band directors also manage instruments, uniforms, travel arrangements, and fundraising efforts. Beyond music, they teach students the value of commitment, practice, and pride in representing their school.
At their core, high school band directors create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel supported, challenged, and proud to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Thank you Mighty Maverick Band!
